Update: I had some feedback that the image in this post was a bit negative, so I've changed it - there is also now a part 2 to this post.
This is a post about the Adelaide Zoo - and so it's clear, I am a hard core, I heart the Adelaide Zoo fan. Growing up in Adelaide and loving animals it's one of my all time favourite places. I love zoos and whenever I get the chance to visit a place I go to their zoo and it never quite compares to Adelaide!
And I think Pokemon Go is awesome - my phone doesn't have gps enabled because I turned it off for privacy, and now I can't turn it back on, and I'm seriously considering getting another phone so I can play Pokemon Go with my daughter.
So, being bored and trawling LinkedIn can you imagine how excited I was to see someone had liked a post about the Adelaide Zoo having Pokemon map and Pokestops?!!
But. That. Post. Was. From. Five. Days. Ago.
The last facebook post about this on the Adelaide Zoo Facebook page was SIX DAYS AGO! Seriously? Hashtag FAIL.
They are on to something amazing and on trend, that kids and not kids anymore love - all the ages that people are desperate to engage with are all over this and instead of making this viral and saturating social media they do nothing??
Facepalm. Someone needs to be yelled at. Honestly. I would be furious if I worked there.
In a half assed way they created one event and 26 people said they were going. I mean way to not put any effort in. I saw more than 26 people catching Pokemon walking along Elizabeth Street in Croydon on the weekend.
On a serious note the Adelaide Zoo has had some real financial issues, and they need people through the gate - especially in the middle of winter.
If you are on to a great thing don't stuff it up, don't fail to benefit from something awesome. Hashtag don't be lame.
The only positive out of my sheer annoyance at this is that it's not to late for me to round up some kids and head to the zoo this weekend - otherwise I'd be penning a sternly written message on their facbook page!
So embrace the Pokemon Go craze and go and visit this beautiful zoo!!
